Inventory best practices - tracking consumables?
Currently, our accounting system tracks only inventory items because the accountants are concerned about having to count consumables (ie. screws, washers, nuts) for our auditors. However, not tracking these small items has created bottlenecks in the production line because the small part is essential for assembly. I'm thinking that it should be tracked in the accounting system but we need a way that satisfy auditing requirements while making it easier for accountants to count. Perhaps by weight? Just like buying nails in a hardware store. You don't buy just one nail but you buy a bag. The question is ';Is this acceptable for counting consumables for a public company?';. Inventory best practices - tracking consumables?
Clearly they need tracking somewhere, but not twice. Because they impact on production tracking needs to be close to the point of use. If the items are cheap, then once everyone has stolen a handful shrinkage will be minimal and away you go. If on the other hand they are expensive then security will be more of an issue.
Essentially, monitoring needs to be at the point of use, rather than in an office somewhere else in the building, or worse.

What typically British consumables can I give to my American friend when I visit her?
Okay, so I'm heading off to Chicago in the next few days to visit a couple of friends, and one of which hasn't been to the UK yet but would LOVE to go.
I'm considering on bringing her a few things, most likely food products to give her a little taste of the UK before she visits.
What can you suggest?
Things like tea, crumpets, Bourbon biscuits. Silly stuff like that to give her a quirky but genuine feel for the UK.What typically British consumables can I give to my American friend when I visit her?
i am american but lived in london for six months studying abroad. there are very few food items i miss from london (no offense) but what I would love to have again - tea, digestives (those cookie things with chocolate on them) - good chocolate from europe, and get her a candy bar or something (the one with the lion on it - that one is super good and we don't have it here). anything else I don't think she is missing out on - except maybe wagamamas (but we have that in boston now)!!!!!What typically British consumables can I give to my American friend when I visit her?

They'll give you quality prints that equal or surpass OEM (Brand Name) supplies at a fraction of the cost, often being priced at less than 1/2 of what you'd expect to pay for OEM cartridges.
You shouldn't have any trouble locating them online either, and most reputable online retailers will offer a fantastic warranty and free shipping for minimum orders.

I am a recently promoted consumables team lead at target, does anyone have experience with this position?
I worked at Target for a year, although not as a supervisor. I got to be good friends with our consumables team lead. She dealt with vendors a lot, the soda vendors came in every day with pallets of soda, that was fun, LOL. She also supervised the unloading of shipments (we stocked in the morning) They would use a walkie to call a huddle over in the freezer/cooler area. A lot of stocking and arranging endcap displays/ setting up proper signage. Also TL's seem to be on first name terms with their PDA's scanning ';outs';, i.e out of stock items. Placing orders rotating, checking expiration dates (FIFO) All team leads were expected to give the GSTL at the front lanes their breaks. Supervising cashiers and service desk/gift registry, getting change and responding to customer issues. Some TL's made announcements and little updates during huddles and led midday ';zoning'; Our consumables team lead was great at midday zoning, we got done really fast. Ad setup and takedown on weekends was a major hassle and team leads were usually in charge.Fish

My rent then was $129. for a four room duplex with a full basement.
My doctor charged $5 a visit and it cost $125 for full prenatal care and delivery. The hospital charged $350 for a four day stay for me and the baby. Labor and delivery included.
I'm not a website, and I don't go back fifty years in terms of paying the bills, but I thought you might enjoy the memory.

All right.....first, get together with your accounting folk and figure out how much you spent on consumables over the past year. If you're going to be doing basically the same type and amount of work with the same staff, then just increase that amount by inflation (4-5%). If you're going to increase your staff, then figure (using this last years data) an amount per headcount and increase the total accordingly. If you're going to be doing different work or know you are going to be using some specialty consumables for a particular project - then you will again need to adjust for these as well..............good luck!

It will give either a number either in Watts or Amps. Amps x Voltage = Watts and Watts x Hours running = Watt-hours
If it shows watts on the sticker, then skip the step 1.
Step 1:
Multiply the amps by the voltage. If you live in the US, use 120 as your voltage.
Step 2:
Multiply watts times the average number of hours it is turned on or running.

How can I get even with an IT consumables site that has ripped me off?
A month ago a site called 'esumables' (based in Perth in Scotland) took 拢38.11 from my credit card but never delivered the printer ink I ordered nor refunded me. And despite numerous emails and calls, they never respond.
They are too far away (I live in London) to tackle face to face - so how do I get my money back OR make them suffer? I am really angry!!How can I get even with an IT consumables site that has ripped me off?

This is an all time debate-able question in my culinary classes,(in fact I am making them do a project on it right now) some companies, moreover, snack companies will do this to try to get you to buy more of their product. Although you won't find this problem much if you shop around the exterior of the store, buying only produce, flour, vegetables, fruits, cheeses, milks, meats, and bakery items. You could get all the essential needs from these areas alone, without having to spend a fortune on junk foods like pringles or Sugary Colas.Is it true that manufactuers put things in consumables to make you need more of their product?
The sacrin (fake sugar) in diet soft drinks only make you hungry. People who are on diets to lose weight and drink diet soft drinks or cordials, only feel hungrier after drinking and makes them want to eat more. Really think about it dieters out there.
The chemicals that they put into the butts in tailor made cigarettes make you more addicted to smoking than the actual addiction to nicotine. Roll your owns are safer.

Food companies do intensive research into making foods that people will crave, but it's just the yummy factor and not some weird subverted chemical thingy.
As for drinks making you more thirsty, I think that's a property of carbonated drinks, which aren't exactly as thirst-quenching as what your body really needs, which is straight water.
But do foods contain chemically addictive substances? Not since Coke took the coke out of Coke. :)

I have a Polti steam cleaner and I have run out of the anti-allergy / bacteriacide lotion that you can add to the water, which also gives a fresh smell to the cleaning. I can use the machine without this product but it would be good to find a stockist. There's so many around now it's difficult to chose. I'm looking for a decent, but inexpensive, printer/scanner with low cost print cartridges as I've heard that the cartridges for some cheap printers are so expensive that you might as well just bin the printer when the cartridges run out!

Canon MP series, doddle to refill and re-program. I have run on the same set for 24 months with no fade/stripes etc.. You can reset the eeprom very easily so the printer thinks the cartrideges are always full.

I used to dye my hair with a dye that had bleach in it. I've decided that I'm going to let the color wash out and then bleach it lighter, tone it, and have white hair. But now that I can see alot of the previously bleached part, I might not need to in some areas.(Please no comments about bleaching being bad for hair, I know that already. And I'll only bleach the parts of my hair that were missed by the dye and are still dark.) But to get white hair, I need toner. I don't feel comfortable buying stuff online and there's only brand that's sold around here(Punky Color) but I don't have the 8 or 9 bucks for it. So does anybody know any cheaper toners I can buy at a store? Or how to make some? What are some good hair toners, permanent or temporary, for getting rid of yellow tints to achieve white hair?
I've heard of Manic Panic's Virgin Snow of being some good, but that's about it. Any other tips on how to get white hair, walk throughs, or links would be lovely as well.
What wouldn't be lovely are warning of how I'm damaging my hair, I know the risks and I have been dying my hair for years and years. I need no warning.

You would need to get your hair professionally done. Toners reduce the yellow and brassy colour left in blonde hair but to go white you would need your hair colour stripped by bleaching it which will leave your hair really dry and you would be left with split ends and if its really dry the ends of your hair would snap off. Deep conditioning treatments once a week would help a little.

My hair is brown. I dyed it blonde in the spring and highlighted it. Last week I dyed it brown again and highlighted it again. I didn't like the color of the highlights. They were also too thin. I am trying to avoid using dyes again to fix it. I want to use a toner to fix the highlights until I can highlight it again. Toner to make hair stark white??
my hair is dark-ish brown, and has some coloring left over in the ends. i've experimented with some strands, and was able to get them really close to platinum blonde. (I used prizm lites toning bleach in violet with a 20vol developer, and left it on for 40minutes, then repeated) it got the new growth really really light, and white in some places, but i was wondering if anyone knows of a toner that will keep up the white color and not turn brassy. i'm tempted to a big white chunk in front, but i'm a little worried about the ends that have dark brown (red base) left over - any comments or suggestions... The bright white/yellow is a good base color for your toner. You should be able to get colors very close to the color on the box or color chart. If it's not exactly as white as recommended in the chart, it may be just a little yellower or darker than you might expect.
Since you mentioned you don't like the yellow look, choose a shade that has a purple (light lavender, actually) base. The ash tones will give you more yellow because they have a green base. The reds will become light orange (which if light enough will come out a strawberry blonde.) If you feel at all unsure of how the base tones will show on your hair, have a professional colorist do it for you. I have done that after going to the stylist and not liking the color. It will work, I promise. Multidimensional coloring kits work really well. Then put a really good conditioner and leave it on your hair for at least a hour then rinse.

Just bought wella color charm 'white lady' toner and wella 20vol creme developer.
I've heard rave reviews but I am not a hairdresser and was wondering if someone could give me step by step instructions on how to apply.
Do I use the whole bottle of 1.42 oz of toner? How much creme developer?
What's the best way to mix it, is the texture thick or foamy, do you apply it with a tint brush?
I don't wanna do it without help but I know not everyone who uses it is a hairdresser.

Apply it at the scalp first to freshly bleached hair that has been thoroughly shampooed, conditioned and dried. After the color sits on the top half of the head for about 15 minutes, bring the toner down onto the lengths and ends of the hair. Process about 30 minutes, shampoo, rinse and condition. If you have any doubts about my info, I suggest you return to where you purchased the product from and get mixing instructions and the exact timing of the processing.

I recommend apple cider vinegar. It has a lot of benefits for your health and your skin. I used to use it on my face and I bought Heinz brand but maybe you can find an organic one somewhere at a health store or Whole Foods.

I managed to get yellow copier toner ink (or whatever it is) on my new white knit shirt.Can anyone suggest a good method for removing that stuff and not getting it set in the fabric.The shirt has a corporate logo embroidered on it so I don't want to bleach it and discolor the threads in the logo.
I just wondered if this type of ink or color as it be requires any special handling to get out and not set in.

Does anyone know what level or brand of hair toner i should use for white/yellow bleached hair?
I would go with a semi-perm glaze instead of a toner. They are more forgiving in application and have prettier color selections. The over-the-counter-toners tend to be very murky and too ashen. The hair needs to be lightened to a level 8 or above. It you want a platinum affect, try a violet/ natural blend. (9v or with some 9NB) This will only work if the hair is truly ';baby chicken yellow'; . If you want a more natural, less ashen look stick to a straight natural toner.(8 or 9 N with maybe a few drops of 9NB. Shades EQ is a super choice if you can find it. They also make a clear to dilute with. If you didn't lighten the hair properly or it is uneven- a toner will not solve your problems. Best of luck.

Personally Id recommend putting on the bleach %26amp; peroxide again just to be sure it strips the color out enough for the toner to hold the color. Blond isnt a color added to your hair, blond is basically just all the color (pigment) stripped out of your hair.

When buying the toner make sure you get the right shade. To neautralise the yellow youw need to use something with a purple ash base (represented by a .2). Try 9.02 or similar. If not then go for blue ash 9.01.

Theres so many great color and you can take your pick. Keep in mind, Manic Panic is a demi color. That means they don't stay in long and you have to keep up with it.
To get it white you really have to bleach again. This time use a lower peroxide and check it every once and a while. Just wipe the bleach off a strand of hair every 15 min. If its just the roots, only apply it to the roots. I know the ends are prob the color youd like it to be so try not to rebleach the ends. You dont want it to completely kill your hair. I'm sorry to say a toner really wont work in this case cause a toner deposites color and you really want to lift more. Well thats what it sounds like.

I don't want to use bleach and further damage my hair. I am naturally a medium brutnette and I bleached one chunck of my hair blonde. It's stuck at this ';pumpkin-peach'; color in some sports. Now I need to tone it up to white/platinum. I know toner will get me there, but before I go walikng into the hair product store, I need to know what to look for!What's the best toner to use to get my hair to a platinum/white shade? I bleached with 40 vol. and it orange!
40 v is not even used in the salon very often. it works to quickly. depending on what level your hair was to start with, dark brown etc. you may need to bleach/lighten more. brown hair has an underlying pigment that is red, and then goes to orange in the stages of lightening. if your hair is still in good condition, i would use the bleach with a 10v or 20 at the most. apply all over the head quickly. watch it, but you shoudln't need heat and should only leave it on 5-15 mins. what you are trying to achieve is the stage where there is almost no pigment left in the hair. the best way to describe it is yellow like the inside of a bannana peel. a very unnatural hair color. once you do get to this point. gently shampoo 2 times, apply a toner. i like to use at Sallys the Miss Clariol Born Blonde toner in snow white or someting like that, whitest white blonde. no mixing is required. leave it on for 5-15 mins. watch it, once your hair looks like alll the yellow/gold is out and it is more of a beige color wet then rinse and condition. if you leave it on too long it can make your hair purple since it is so porus. bottle says leave it on for up to 30 but don't. if you don't have a Sally Beauty supply, Manic Panic makes a white blonde toner as well. or you can get a bottle of so silver, shimmer lights shampoo etc. it is purple and leave it on as a toner for the same amount of time. i use the miss clariol shimmer lights shampoo every other time to help keep the brassiness out of my light blonde bleached hair. if your hair is to damaged at this point to bleach further then you can use a toner on the prelightened hair you have now, but it will be more of a dark gold blonde. good luck.What's the best toner to use to get my hair to a platinum/white shade? You need to lift you hair lighter than orange anyways to use the platium toner. trying buying new devloper always make sure lid is tight and only open for the second you are pouring it. 40 should off done it or ate it all off one. If it's just barely off, like a light blonde but not cool enough as you'd like, do either a high-level neutral or choose the exact color you want it to be. You can also try using a purple or blue depositing shampoo a couple times, like clairol shimmer lights or schwartzkoph touch of silver.

My hair was already a very light blonde, but I bleached my hair this Sunday (24th) I used Prism Lites violet bleach and Clairol Kaleidocolors violet bleach with Clairol 20 volume developer. I covered my hair w/ plastic wrap and left it for about 1 hour and 15 min w/o heating. I rinsed my hair out, conditioned and let it dry. My hair is really light and in good condition, but extremely yellow tinted. So I went to Sally's and got Shimmer Lights shampoo and conditioner and I have used it 2 times and it seems to be helping. I want to know if my hair is light enough to use a toner, or if I should just bleach it again to go to the next level? The lady as Sallys said toner would only make the hair appear darker, but everyone seems to use a toner after bleaching in order to get rid of yellow/unnatural tones , so i'm confused about what to do next.What color/toner should I use after bleaching my hair to get a white blonde color?

this is going to sound crazy, but wash the hair in tomato sauce and rinse thoroughly, it evens out the tone and re-pigments the hair. then u should go buy a silver shampoo, sold in boots, superdrug etc, and was hair in that a few times. its quite a common thing to happen, the hair has been stripped of all natural pigment, this why it has hapened. so the process needs to be reversed now. justdo the above, it will be fine. and ur daughters hair colour will be as she wanted it.

I have peroxide blonde hair - I used Schwartzkopf platinum blonde bleach about a week ago and to get rid of yellowness and brassiness and to make my hair even whiter I bought some La Riche White Toner which has excellant reviews.... I did a strand test which made the hair stay purple even after washing and drying the strand. how long did you leave it in for? You might have left it in too long if it turned purple. A toner like that sometimes only takes about 5 minutes to process. Try another strand test and don't leave it in as long.
go to a hairdresser, you'l end up really making a mess of your hair and it will cost you loads, pay for a decent job and then have your roots done simple xx

how long did you leave it in for? You might have left it in too long if it turned purple. A toner like that sometimes only takes about 5 minutes to process. Try another strand test and don't leave it in as long.

I've had white heads around my nose and on my chin for many years now, and no matter what I do, mostly clean them out, they always come back. They don't bother me too much because they're not really visible, but I just wish I could get rid of it once and for all. I Used White Manic Panic Hair Toner last night . I applied it to wet hair and left in for 1 1/2 hours. The roots turned out whiter and the ends are still yellow/gold. Have you dyed your hair before? If so, thats why it took to your roots more than the rest of your hair. The roots of your hair have never been dyed so they soaked up the toner more easily. On the other hand, the ends of your hair had already been dyed another color, so the toner had to go through that to get to your hair and color it.
You probably didn't miss any steps and to fix the problem I'd use the toner again but only on the tips of your hair to even it out. Before you do that, though, do a little research to make sure that using that product for too long won't damage your hair.

I've been to Sally's. The staff were utterly useless, I bought some sort of bleach/dye thing there, it lightened my hair slightly, but not enough.

I have two brother intelifax machines, I have changed the toner and drum on both, but still get lines through my documents. I cleaned the little glass piece inside also. What else could be the problem?

Open it up, remove any visible paper, and with a compressor, blow the insides of it very throughly.
If you don't have a compressor, a can of compressed air may work also.
Chances are, there's a tiny sliver of paper somewhere, jammed somewhere you can't see. It's not large enough, or in a sensitive enough place to jam the machine altogether, but it could be blocking the printing on certain areas of your pages.

Open it up, remove any visible paper, and with a compressor, blow the insides of it very throughly.
If you don't have a compressor, a can of compressed air may work also.
Chances are, there's a tiny sliver of paper somewhere, jammed somewhere you can't see. It's not large enough, or in a sensitive enough place to jam the machine altogether, but it could be blocking the printing on certain areas of your pages.

What is the model of the machine? For instance a Panasonic Model KX-FA84 has a seperate drum cartridge and lines can be caused by drum. You mentioned copies are lined and dirty. Are internal prints or incoming faxes lined as well? If they are, then your machine probably needs a drum cartridge or rarely with the panasonic fax a fuser. If the lines do not show up on an incoming fax the slit glass in the scanner is most likely dirty. Check for white out in the scanner on the little thin glass.

Do I still use my Clean %26amp; Clear astringent after the cleanser or in shower cleanser, or just the Clean %26amp; Clear soft things?

The astringent decreases pore size %26amp; yes use it after you cleanse. it may however have a drying effect so have a good daily moisturizer also.

Take it from someone who has tried it all, from proactive to dermatalogical prescriptions, the best product line I've found is the Acne Free system. You can find it at Walmart for around $20. It leaves your skin feeling clean, not oily or tight and dry. I definitely reccommend it. I swear by CLINIQUE. However, i used to work for a collection agency, and we would collect for Guthy-Renker, Proactive Skin Care. We would get a bunch of mixed calls from people, saying that they hated the product, it made them break out or that they loved the product and would'nt mind paying what they owed.
To me its a 50/50 chance, i would think it depends on your skin type. For someone like me, who has very sensitive skin, i wouldnt chance it . If you can use regular skin products w/out your face breaking out then maybe you should try it. My brother actually used it b/c he had acne on his back and it was ruining some of his tattoos, it cleared everything up.

i have oily skin that tends to break out every now and then. i've hoenstly tried everythingg and so far i've had the best luck with proactive. its the first one i have used that doesnt dry out my skin. it comes with the cleanser, toner, and a cream. give it a try i'm telling you it's awsome :)

Remove toner and drum.
Look in opening, probably ABOVE toner/rum (if same as my Brother) is a small glass strip. Take a piece of tissue paper (kitchen paper is best) and gently clean this. DRY CLEAN !
If there is dust / other debris on this is will obstruct the laser beam causing a blank line.I changed my toner and drum, but my papers still have a blank line running through them. What else can I do?
Most printer software has a adjustment section for realigning the printer heads after ink/toner changes.
look for a dab of white out dust or marker on the roller or glass, if so then clean it
Maybe you need to calibrate the printer... i work with Three Xerox Printers and when that happens the technician just calibrates the colors once again...
it depends which way the line goes...top to bottom as the page exits? side to side as it exits?t-b can be dirt in the charge wire(corona) causing a hot spot that wil not charge the drum properly. s-s can be a roller or sticking problem (jitter)with the feed or optics.dirty optics will give you a dark line...there are alot of variables but most problems are dirt related.need more info if that doesnt help...

Does the MICR line on checks have to be printed with magnetic toner?
I've seen many software products at the store for printing your own checks. Some even come with blank check stock, to suggest you could just install the software and print checks to your heart's content.
While all the packages will print the OCR characters, it is only in smaller letters on the package that they suggest that you use magentic ink or magnetic toner to print your checks.
A friend who has been using regular toner to print his checks for several years, says he's never had a problem, and never had a check returned. He claims that these days banks use optical character recognition to read the MICR line, and it's no longer necessary to deal with magnetic toner.
What's the real story?Does the MICR line on checks have to be printed with magnetic toner?
i believe that if a check is not encoded with magnetic MICR ink, it has to be keyed in manually. you can go to the bank and request a blank counter check to use and that would not have MICR, so they do it manually. i would suggest asking your bank. it is possible that in the fine print somewhere they might have a charge for having to deal with non MICR drafts against your account.
I would think it opens you up to more errors on your account by not having it automatically read.
i remember way back when The Tonite Show with Johnny Carson did a film of him writing a check on a bikini clad model and presenting her to a bank for payment. as i recall they paid, not sure how they handled the cancellation process!
