me and my sister did the 40 volume bleach, from hottopic, but we decided to not use the toner. what color does it make it turn usually when you use the toner. lighter or darker?

I used that toner when my hair was a bit orangey and got rid of most of it, but if you leave it on for more than 15 minutes it turns your hair blue
