It means that the starter cartridge you got with your printer, has enough toner to print 1,000 pages at 5% coverage.





Your replacement cartridges that you will buy, will yield 3,000 pages at 5% coverage.





5% of a page isn't a whole heck of a lot, so don't expect to use up 2 pkgs of paper with your starter cartridge.

if its got an IP address.......you can type it into a web browser and you'll get all the info you need.





We use all network printers and this is how I check the status or set up any of the printers. To get the ip of the printer, just find the printer under the control panel, right click for properties, and check the port/ip its using.





Or you can usually just hold down one, or a combination of buttons on the printer to get a config page.

The more prominent places are Funan IT Mall and Sim Lim for IT products and consumables. There are just too many shops or different levels. You will have to visit them and start looking around for the best prices/deals. Smaller shops can offer you discounts. Bigger ones like Challenger have fixed prices. Inventory best practices - tracking consumables?

Currently, our accounting system tracks only inventory items because the accountants are concerned about having to count consumables (ie. screws, washers, nuts) for our auditors. However, not tracking these small items has created bottlenecks in the production line because the small part is essential for assembly. I'm thinking that it should be tracked in the accounting system but we need a way that satisfy auditing requirements while making it easier for accountants to count. Perhaps by weight? Just like buying nails in a hardware store. You don't buy just one nail but you buy a bag. The question is ';Is this acceptable for counting consumables for a public company?';. Inventory best practices - tracking consumables?
Clearly they need tracking somewhere, but not twice. Because they impact on production tracking needs to be close to the point of use. If the items are cheap, then once everyone has stolen a handful shrinkage will be minimal and away you go. If on the other hand they are expensive then security will be more of an issue.





Essentially, monitoring needs to be at the point of use, rather than in an office somewhere else in the building, or worse.

I just ordered the hl-2040 for myself through staples.
I use a Samsung ML 2100 series. The printer is pretty cheap in general. The toner/drum is sold as a kit for about 70-80 at a retail store (you can find it cheaper online if you look). Approx 21ppm
How about HP LaserJet P1006? It is Small size, good print quality.. A decent deal for it is only $60 instead of $180. Ypu can have a look at it:

I am a recently promoted consumables team lead at target, does anyone have experience with this position?

I worked at Target for a year, although not as a supervisor. I got to be good friends with our consumables team lead. She dealt with vendors a lot, the soda vendors came in every day with pallets of soda, that was fun, LOL. She also supervised the unloading of shipments (we stocked in the morning) They would use a walkie to call a huddle over in the freezer/cooler area. A lot of stocking and arranging endcap displays/ setting up proper signage. Also TL's seem to be on first name terms with their PDA's scanning ';outs';, i.e out of stock items. Placing orders rotating, checking expiration dates (FIFO) All team leads were expected to give the GSTL at the front lanes their breaks. Supervising cashiers and service desk/gift registry, getting change and responding to customer issues. Some TL's made announcements and little updates during huddles and led midday ';zoning'; Our consumables team lead was great at midday zoning, we got done really fast. Ad setup and takedown on weekends was a major hassle and team leads were usually in charge.
